Brewer’s spruce is a rare and unique conifer that grows in the Klamath-Siskiyou Ecoregion. Shannon Browne investigated the recruitment and population dynamics of Brewer’s Spruce to better understand the impacts of climate change on this charismatic conifer. Throughout her study, she came to be further endeared to the species as she uncovered the layers of its existence, contributions to science, ancient history, and disjunct nature.
