Field Trip: Silver Falls State Park Winter Festival

Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Members of the Willamette Valley Chapter of the NPSO will lead walks to view the conifers and hardwoods of Silver Falls State Park at 1:00 pm on both days of the Silver Falls State Park Winter Festival. Other festival activities include guided lichen, mushroom, and hibernator walks; winter bird talks; and interactive “discovery tables” about animal tracks, waterfalls, and the seasons. Visitors can also build bird nest boxes, make wreaths and pinecone bird feeders, and decorate gingerbread cookies. Activities will take place in the South Falls day-use area and Smith Creek Village.
