Program: Wildflowers of the Siskiyou Mountains

Location: Southern Oregon University, Ashland
In anticipation of the upcoming spring-summer bloom, Matt will review morphological characters and the taxonomy of our native flowers.

Since completing an Environmental Studies degree at the University of Oregon in 1998, Matt has served as an environmental educator with the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, University of Illinois, and the Chicago Zoological Society. Currently, he is the agricultural director at a locally based natural products company, where he implements organic farming practices to cultivate medicinal plants. He is also a post-baccalaureate botany student at Oregon State University and volunteers with SCNPS to organize field-based learning opportunities with the Siskiyou Plant Explorers.
